Senior Girls Basketball
This year it was decided that there should only be one strong senior girls basketball team. With the u16 girls doing so well in the Dublin league the year before, we now were entered into a higher division. As our first match approached we were nervous. We didn’t know how different these teams would be to the Wicklow ones which we had previously dominated. However, we didn’t need to worry as we won our first game comfortably 45-15 against St.Josephs. This first win really helped us as we went into the next 3 games on a high and beat off the competition convincingly, St. Colmcilles 38-20, Rathcoole 84-15 and Colaiste Chiarain 22-14.
Our next match however was against the leaders of the league, Alexandra College. We knew this team were great but we went out and gave it our best, unfortunately we were beaten 31-23. Our next game scheduled was against Palmerstown but they ended up forfeiting. Our last match had a great number of obstacles. First it had had to be rescheduled due to the snow and when we finally were able to travel there were a number of players missing for work experience, injury or illness. This left us with just over half the players to go and fight for a place in the quarter finals. It was a close game. Each side put in so much effort as the score was so tight throughout. Unfortunately, in the end they just tipped us by 29-24. We were devastated at the result but also proud of how far our team had come. Hopefully next year we will remain in the Dublin league and advance further on in the competition.
The whole team would like to thank Ms. Minogue and Ms. Minogue-Jones who have put in the hard work and helped us improve from first year Wicklow league basketball to Senior Dublin basketball. We appreciate the time and dedication they have given to us.

2 Year Girls Basketball
This was a successful year for our basketball team. We had a season of winning some and losing some. Over all we came 3 in our league .We played our first match against St. Davids. It was a home match and played to our advantage because we won, and we also got good support from the students watching our match. We then went on to play St.Marys in Arklow. We played them twice, once against their A team and the other against their B. We lost one and won the other so it wasn’t too bad. We played against Avondale Community Collage, disappointedly we lost as a result of being neck and neck all match but lost in the last quarter. We had one last match to play against the Abbey down the road .But lets just say they ‘Chickened out’, forfeiting the match (But we would have won either way though). Putting us third inleague. On behalf of all the girls we’d like to say a massive thanks Ms. Minogue Jones for coaching us throughout the year as well as Ms. Minogue .Thanks ,and we to do play even better in the league year when were playing on the under 16’s.
