The Constitution of Friends of East Glendalough
2. The aims of the Friends are (i) toprovide parents of past-
4. The Friends shall hold an Annual General Meeting (AGM) each year, usually in early October each year.

All members of the Friends shall be given at least three weeks notice of the meeting.
Any Motions for the meeting must be submitted in writing to the Secretary not less than ten days prior to the AGM.
Motions and elections shall be decided by a simple majority of those present, with the exception that any changes to the Constitution require a two-
5. An Extraordinary General Meeting may be called by the Committee at any time, or by twenty members in writing to the Hon.Secretary. The quorum, notice and requirements for the AGM shall apply, and members shall have the purpose of this meeting explained in advance.
6. The business of the Friends of East Glendalough School will be administered by a committee comprising a Chairperson, a Secretary, a Treasurer and up to 3 other members.

The Committee shall be answerable to the Friends for all transactions and operations undertaken on its behalf.
Except in cases of foreseeable negligence, the Committee shall be indemnified by the Friends against any claims against them.
Committee members will be elected for a 3 year period at the annual general meeting of the Friends.
The committee will meet as required but at least 4 times a year. 3 persons will form a quorum at a committee meeting.
The Committee will provide regular reports on the work of the Friends and the committee to the Board of Management of the school.
7. The Friends will support the school primarily (but not uniquely) by raising money for the school. To this end, the Annual General Meeting of the Friends will agree membership rates. Excluding any minor legitimate expenses, all the proceeds of the membership fees will go to supporting the school
8. The Friends will have an account in a local bank. Correct accounts of the Friends will be kept by the treasurer. The accounts will be presented regularly to the committee. The accounts for the preceding year will be audited by the committee and then presented to the Annual General Meeting. The financial year for the Friends shall be from the 1 July to the 30 June.
